Lixouri, Kefalonia

The second-largest town on the stunning island of Kefalonia in the Greek Islands. Lixouri is a very Greek town which has not been spoilt by tourism. Traditionally, Lixouri’s visitors are people who have discovered its charm and who return year after year.

Perfectly located, we have a permanent yacht berth here and are just 5 minutes walk from the centre of this lively town. Make your way into the square for an early evening drink from the many bars and coffee shops – very popular with local Greek people who live and work in Lixouri. Watch the ferries as they make their regular journeys from Lixouri to Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. Only half an hour away, Argostoli is worth a visit with its modern shops and many restaurants.

The bay of Lixouri is home to some of the best wind conditions and safest sailing we’ve experienced in the Ionian. Perfect for Day Refresher courses and sailors who want to find their sea legs in a non-busy environment before moving on to new destinations.

The wind in this area is superb for yacht sailing. Very often, when the wind is 5 to 10 knots in the north of Kefalonia, there will be 20 knots in the bay just off Lixouri producing excellent sailing conditions. Take advantage of this spacious sailing environment to build confidence in a truly unique area.
