Simply stunning is the only way to describe Atheras on the west coast of Kefalonia. Believed by many to be the location for Homer’s adventurer and legendary king of Ithaka, Odysseus, Atheras is known only to a few sailors. This is the perfect overnight anchorage on a calm night.
There are no shops here so you’ll need to have stocked up at your previous location. But that’s the beauty of this place. Nothing but you, a small, traditional beach taverna, moon and starlight & the sound of water gently lapping up on the shore.
