Agios Nikolas

This practical, little port has everything you’ll need for a comfortable overnight stay after a day sailing from Kefalonia, Ithaca or any of the other islands further north. Relax and recuperate before planning your next sailing leg.

Agios Nikolas is on the NE of Zakynthos. If you are arriving from the north, then once you spot the fabulous, must-see blue water caves of Skinari, you are just a couple of miles away from this friendly little port. As you sail south, from the blue water caves, you’ll see the islet of Agios Nikolas. Mooring is available alongside the large concrete apron on the southern side of the bay or stern or bows-to in the W and SW corner. If you prefer you can anchor and take a line to the rocks south of the Southern Quay.

There are a couple of enterprising families here who can organise pretty much anything you wish. Extremely friendly and efficient, you couldn’t be in better hands. Fuel can be delivered to your yacht by truck and should you fancy a day on land, they can arrange for a hire car to be with you in less than 30 minutes.

The NW wind kicks provides some fantastic downwind yacht sailing, the whole way to Agios Nikolas. Make sure the blue water caves of Skinari are on your sailing itinerary, then anchor up in the bay and enjoy some wonderful snorkelling. Let your imagination run riot as you swim in the stunning cobalt blue water. So vivid that it turns the rocky waterline into a magical sky blue.
