Assisted Sailing
Assisted Sailing is for less experienced skippers who want to enjoy the fun and freedom of bareboat charter under the guidance of an RYA qualified instructor.
Relax and enjoy your first day exploring the spacious and beautiful bay of Lixouri. Here you will gain confidence handling the yacht under both sail and motor in a fun and safe environment. Stern-to mooring, man overboard procedures and reefing are all refreshed as well as simply getting used to handling an unfamiliar sailing yacht.
Plan your yacht sailing itinerary for the rest of the week with the help of a knowledgeable and experienced skipper. Overnight stays on anchor along the stunning south coast of Kefalonia are a favourite. Perhaps a night in the beautiful Poros marina on the east coast of Kefalonia or an exhilarating open sea sail to Zakynthos. We’ll help put together a sailing itinerary that we know you’ll enjoy.
Your instructor won’t be onboard the whole week, nor will he live aboard. If there are a number of yachts on the same assisted sailing week, then the instructor will move from one yacht to another, tailoring his sail training as needed. Once you’ve sailed to your overnight des
tination, he will make sure that the yacht is moored safely for the night before leaving. After this, he will be on call and available throughout the night through the onboard mobile phone.
After the first two or three days guidance, you will be keen and ready to make your own sailing decisions during the day, keeping our involvement to telephone contact where necessary and a quick visit from us to ensure you are safely in for the night.
Cost
An additional £300 to the usual bareboat charter cost.
