This is a FREE one day sailing course with our RYA qualified yacht instructor and is time well spent for those about to bareboat charter. It is designed to give skipper and crew a confidence boost in preparation for setting sail on their Ionian yacht charter. It covers many of the yacht sailing skills and drills necessary afloat, plus any other aspects that you feel you may need to brush up on. A second day can also be provided, if required.

A typical course will cover:                                             

• Safe and proper use of winches and sheets

• Hoisting and setting sails for all courses

• Reefing mainsail and genoa

• Man overboard recovery

• Departing from harbour and stern-to berthing

• Anchoring

• Proper use of VHF and DSC

Please note that this course does not lead to a formal sailing certificate. It is intended to brush up your existing skills to ensure a safe bareboat sailing yacht charter. If it is clear that there is a shortage of pre-requisite skills, a skipper will be placed in charge for the remainder of the sailing yacht charter, at the usual skipper rates of just £80 a day.
